Hello everyone,
Glad that there's another year, this is the best time to get started on your literary dreams.
If you're an aspiring author, it makes sense to invest in a writer's seminar or workshop. These classes get you going on the 'ground floor' as you'll hear from professionals who describe their experience, expertise, and encouragement that you will need to go through the publishing process.
It is believed there is an estimate of 80% of the U.S. population that wants to write a book. Wishing to write a book is not the same as actually making it happen. How many of you felt this was the year to begin that long awaited novel or family biography, perhaps even a chapbook full of your favorite poems only to be bogged down with personal issues, obligations and unexpected events? While we cannot predict what will happen in the course of the year, it is suggested that you at least attend a workshop or seminar in your area to at least know what is expected of you when you finally put pen to paper and start your manuscript.
If you don't have the time to attend one of these functions, then take a look at the Resources page of our website, Authors N Focus, and discover what it takes to be the author you want to be.
Until then, always keep your dreams in focus!

P.S. This blog has been neglected for the longest time, but starting this year, we'll go more into the issues surrounding the publishing business and what it means for new and aspiring authors. We plan to post more interviews from emerging writers too.

Dawn M. Lightsy: Producer N Focus
Update: We’ve been away, but we’re back and will have news about the show soon.
You already know about the hosts of the upcoming Authors N Focus program, but there is a third person involved in making this happen, co-producer Dawn M. Lightsy. Dawn is the author of Stellar, a novel which chronicles the struggle of Common Starr, a successful screenwriter who faces challenges in her marriage, her profession and her inner demons.
She is also the founder of Red Sea Entertainment, a commercial, television and film company located in Los Angeles, California. The company specializes in the production of seeing literary print works to screen and developing projects to feature and short films to documentaries and commercials.
While Dawn is working to secure a home for the Authors N Focus television show (we thank her for that), she is currently working on a few projects that you can look for yourself on her new website: http://www.redseaent.com
We thank Dawn for her contribution as she is keeping her dreams N focus!

Authors N Focus - The TV Show update!
It's been busy in the past couple of weeks on the ANF TV Show side of things, but we're finally getting it together.
Together with producer Dawn Lightsy, co-host Chandra Adams and myself, we've finished taping the first few shows and ready to start airing them in May. (L.A. market only - nationwide later on). I hope you'll enjoy our interviews with the following guests: Actress and author Cherie Johnson; Actress, filmmaker and author, Ci Ci Foster (photo courtesy of her husband, Kevin), Michael McGrew, Wisdom Sikora, Wilma Blair-Reed, Odessa Cleveland, Aja Rae, Jas Jamieson, Gary Phillips, Shay Olivarria, Michele Waters and Nelson Brown.
Quite a lineup huh? We had fun speaking with them and I hope you'll feel the same after you watch the shows.
We have a YouTube page up now with Writing Tips for new and aspiring authors. We have a page on the blog for past lessons, and we'll have a link on the website soon.
